Silver Lining Floor Care – Solid Oak Floor Polishing Project

Floor Restoration Work Requirement:

The solid oak floor polishing project in the kitchen, after years of use, was very tired and needed some restoration. We listened to the client thoroughly and decided that full floor sanding is a good way forward. For a finish, we hose Pallmann Magic Oil. Floor Sanding Activity:

The installation of the floor was perfect. There was no issue with gaps or any of the planks being weakened and no repairs. It was just a matter to remove the old finish and all the scratches. For that, we used Pallmann Spider. A very gentle piece of equipment, yet very effective. The whole process was totally dust-free so there was no need to do the clean up after the work.

Sanding & Oiling Results:

The end results were fantastic!!! Scratch-free, grains and beauty of the wood are now visible, well protected and it kept a natural look of the oak due to the use of the oil. We were very happy, so was the client. The oil needs only 4h to allow light traffic and 12 hours to cure to its full strength, which was perfect for the client as they could use the kitchen the same day for their busy family of 5.

After a few days, we follow up on the job to make sure that the client is happy with the result. This natural look gave him concerns. He wasn’t sure that the floor can withstand spillages and stains. Despite giving him a 2-year Pallmann warranty on the finish, he was still a little concerned.

We did this job before Christmas so we scheduled the appointment for the New Year so I can reassure him personally. We visited the client in Feb 2018 and he wasn’t concerned anymore.
